SEEKING COUNSEL BEFORE SURRENDERING TO THE MINISTRY:

I knew I was called, but

I guess I wanted to have it confirmed by Godly men in my life:

1. Pastor Fred Templeman (my Pastor when I was called)

2. My former Pastor Dr. Ken Smith

Both gave me the same advice, it seemed like they got together and decided on what to say to me.

A. If you are called by God don’t you dare quit. Don’t leave until He calls you somewhere else.

B. Stay on your knees in prayer and read your Bible daily.

C. Seek counsel with God first and Godly men second and on a regular basis

D. Expect adversity. You will be lied to and on, your family will be lied on. You and your family will be called names.

E. You will be made to look evil and ungodly (“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.”)

F. Your name will be drug through the mud

G. Satan will turn his followers loose on you and come at you from all directions. Satan will use whatever and whoever he can, including your own family to discourage you and to get you to quit. (“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Genesis 50:20)

H. There will be times when you feel that everyone is against you and that there is no hope. STOP! Look to Heaven. God is STILL on your side.

Well here it is 21 years later and the advice still holds true and every time I think about quitting I hear them say: “GOD called you don’t even think about it unless GOD has called you somewhere else.”

Satan attacks regularly and he uses people I would have never expected to turn on me or on God’s ministry. Self-proclaimed Christians even have turned on us. They ask us for help then turn on us when we enforce the rules of the ministry. They seek others to join them in their wicked attacks and lies. I am here to tell you GOD is still on the throne. AMEN!

Here are a few things that I have learned about the trials that GOD allows us to go through:

1. Each trial has something for us to learn from it

2. I’m drawn closer to GOD

3. It teaches me how much I need GOD

4. It makes me a stronger Servant of GOD

5. I always come out stronger on the other side of the trial

6. It makes me more determined to serve The LORD

I thank GOD for the godly men that He has put in my life.

· My Pastor, Jeff Ables, who preaches the Word, will spend time counseling me and advising me, even if it is to listen to me empty my heart then tell me to suck it up and get on with serving God.

· Brother Dan Tidd and Brother Bill Marshall will take the time out of their busy schedules to listen and advise me.

· A Christian attorney that keeps me on the right side of the law and advises me on all legal aspects of GOD’s ministry, who gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him if anyone is giving his Girls’ Ranch a hard time.

Do I like going through the trials?

NO, but I LOVE THE END results. GOD has won again!
